Loving Decor on Valentine’s Day! <3

Hello loves!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted on here with an updated blog! Life is definitely getting crazy and it’s hard to catch a breath when you’re having so much fun! Anyways, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I’m sure you’re wondering what could you do to around the house to “set the mood!”

Trust me, all those scenes you see in the movies can become a reality very easily! Here are some idea’s to brighten up the household with a more loving mood!

Rose Petals!

Yes, I know, it sounds so cliché because it’s Valentine’s Day and all, but I’m not talking about making a trail to the bedroom or in the bathtub (I mean, I’m not opposing it ;)). Instead of making a trail, let’s try something different! How about rose petals on her office space at home? Or tv stand? Kitchen counters? Just little places throughout the house that she wouldn’t expect, and then she’ll have the smooth mindset every time she views them or is by them!

Try switching it up by doing some different colors other than your typical red! Here’s a chart of different colors!

Can’t forget the candles! If you’re anything like me, you probably have an endless supply of every scent under the moon except the moon itself!

Try something that’s a little sweeter than normal! Or put the candle’s in a different setting!

Try a more delicious scent or flowery scent! Vanilla is classic of course..but I discovered a new scent lately that I am IN LOVE WITH! It’s called Vanilla Rum Cookie! It can be found on a Scentsy consultant’s website!

Here are some other scents that will definitely the area more magical! These scents are also part of the Valentine’s Day Collection at Yankee Candle!

Raspberry Sorbet!

Chocolate Truffle!

Bakery Air! (online exclusive)

Mhhmmm I bet you can smell those sweet smells already! I know I sure can!

Now let’s set the mood with some fun lighting!

String lights are always a great mood setter! String lights to me always remind me of a warm, romantic outdoor scene like a walk through the park or somewhere exotic like the Eifel Tower!

It could be as simple as just stringing them across your living room, bedroom, etc. Here are some other options to which you can create that fantasy scenario with string lights!

Simply add string lights to lantern or liqueur bottles you have around the house!

Or how about attaching your favorite pictures of you and your significant other to the string lights! You can take a stroll down memory lane and fall in love with each other all over again!

Hope everyone’s Valentine’s Day and weekend is as wonderful as all of you are!

New Year, New Color

ell folks, it’s a new year! That’s right, 2015 has been left in the past and now it’s time for 2016!

With the new year already kicking off, I’m sure a lot of you are ready for some new color in your household! Whether that be new paint, accessories, or a new bedspread design, something new and refreshing is probably needed somewhere!

Let’s start off with Sherwin William’s Color of the Year!

This year’s 2016 color is…

“Alabaster represents a straightforward and necessary shift to mindfulness. It provides an oasis of calmness, spirituality and ‘less is more’ visual relief. Alabaster is neither stark nor overly warm, but rather an understated and alluring white.”
Jackie Jordan, Sherwin-Williams director of color marketing.

For me, this is a very soothing color, but maybe it isn’t quite your style. Have no fear! I have located some other great color pallets!

Why not give these a try!

Happy Holidays 🙂

Sweet Smell of Thanksgiving!

Now that Halloween is gone, I’m sure everyone is thinking hard about Thanksgiving! All that food and the warmth of your parent’s house or even Grandma’s house! Gah I can just picture it now! What’s really planting a great picture in my head is the sweet smells around me! Yes I’m by a lot of Yankee candles!

I’ve picked out a couple that I feel like every home should try to make your home feel extra warm and delightful for Thanksgiving or even all year round!

Bourbon and Vanilla!
I’m a huge vanilla junkie and this is like the icing on top!

Salted Carmel!
Gosh, what isn’t there to love here!

Pumpkin Spice!

Fall wouldn’t be fall without something pumpkin!

 Cinnamon Stick
Ahh yes, that cozy scent as your are sitting by the fire on a cold winter night!

Hope I’m getting some great pictures and ideas into your heads to make winter this year a lot more tolerable!

Seasons greetings!

Neolith Stone

A couple of weeks ago in my Internship class, we all had to give a presentation of what we have been learning or doing on our job site! Well, honestly, mine wasn’t too special..BUT a fellow classmate gave us all some really cool information including telling us about Neolith Stone, which I had no clue existed! Turns out, this stone is pretty darn amazing and can be used in several different ways! I’ll give you a break down of what Neolith stone is!

Basically, Neolith is a remarkable stone that doesn’t scratch and doesn’t stain, idea for counter tops. Neolith also has some other amazing qualities such as fire and heavy-duty cleaning agent resistant, and, thanks to the extremely low absorption rate of technical porcelain, ideal for food contact and processing.

Seriously.. could you ask for anything better or more!?

Neolith stone is also Eco friendly! It is made up of all natural elements such as clay, feldspar, silica and mineral oxides, and its colors are made up of natural pigments. The colors are nothing short of breath taking when it comes to all these wonderful elements involved!

Here are some examples!

Gosh, I can’t get over how incredible this natural stone is!

You can also use this stone as basically anything! Walls, flooring, in your bathroom, counter tops, anywhere in your home! The durability is lifetime and really only requires a once in a lifetime buy! Seriously, who can beat that?!

How much do you expect to pay for something that doesn’t scratch, stain, and haves a lifetime durability? Not a lot! Actually, Neolith stone has some very reasonable pricing depending on where you go! As modern day arrives, I believe more of this stone is going to be a normal for everyone!

Go ahead and check out a local kitchen and bath store or counter top store and ask them about Neolith stone! You may be shocked at how much it is with all these wonderful benefits! Enjoy!

Happy Decorating!

Decorating Musings On A Cold, October Day…

Well, it’s another cold and windy day here in the beautiful month of October! What’s better than enjoying the cold inside your home, drinking some coffee, and exploring over Pinterest? Nothing in my opinion! Let me show you some ways to cozy up your home on a crappy, cold day!

Cinnamon Candle!

This is a really easy DIY!

First: Pick a candle scent of your choosing! I prefer the classic Vanilla.

Second: Buy cinnamon sticks! Dollar store works great!

Third: Hot glue the cinnamon sticks in a circle to the candle!

Fourth: Add a cute ribbon or keep it plain… your choice!

Let’s Kick Off Fall!!

It’s here! The first day of fall! If you’re anything like me, you’re going crazy over anything pumpkin related! And you if you’re not, well that’s okay too!

I thought I’d like to share some of my own creations, along with some I have found on Pintetest of beautiful fall decor for all over the house!

This is a painting I did a couple of days ago! Not bad for not painting in 4 years! P.S- sun flowers are my favorite!

I got these huge pumpkins and this beautiful mum from the flower shop I work at! These are perfect for my little porch space!

I know I’ve shared this before but I’m too proud of it to not share multiple times! A Juliette serve bowl, mulled apple poulp  and mulled apple candle.. All from Pottery Barn! Oh and the candle burns down the middle so it won’t light anything else on fire!

This mantel is beyond gorgeous with all of its fall decor! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/47639708535444303/
Here’s another cute front porch idea! I’m too afraid to put small pumpkins out because they always get stolen.. This would be great with big pumpkins too!

Here’s to happy decorating for fall!
