Desk Inspiration!

Recently, I’ve gotten myself a new, small set up for my desk at work that is not only beautiful (to me at least) but as well calming during the rough days! It’s amazing how flowers and a couple of sassy signs can change the setting of your work area. Enjoy!

Vase and flowers are from Pier 1 Imports and the two signs are from Shopko! 🙂

It’s true, my love for autumn is back and stronger than ever! Inspiration is always in the air but there’s something about this time of year that really get’s the wheels turning on the right side of your brain!

Please enjoy some of these autumn inspired projects and crafts!

Have a couple of mason jars just laying around? Maybe even an empty glass container? Give it a fresh coat of paint of your choice, grab some faux florals, snip them to size, and boom! You have yourself a simple and easy seasonal décor item! Add a ribbon for an extra holiday kick!

Ok, this is a clever one! So simple as well! Pumpkins are so fun to carve but it can get a bit messy, but have you tried this?! Super glue crayons onto your pumpkin and melt with a hairdryer! Seriously though, I have no idea why I haven’t thought of this before!

Ok, I have been looking FOREVER for something simple to put on my door especially since a wreath is too thick. This is perfect! Putting this project down on my to-do list! A great gift too!

Hopefully I got some wheels turning in your creative minds! Don’t worry, there will be more to come, but for now, I better get back to the Packer game!

DIY Color Swatch Dry Erase Calendar!

I have recently just gotten a new office job (yay!) and I found this cool idea on Pinterest! A do-it-yourself color swatch dry erase calendar!

Over the past 2.5 years in school for Interior Design, I’m sure you can image the bunches and bunches I have of color and fabric swatches, so instead of keeping them in a box, I decided to get a little creative with them!

First off, I went down to my local Goodwill and bought a regular picture frame for like $3. This frame is an 11×14.

Second, I dug out my 2015 color swatches from Sherwin Williams and I started to think on what color scheme I would like to do or if I would like to do something completely random! IT’S TOTALLY UP TO YOU!

Third, I started cutting and placing the swatches where I would like them, then securing them down with scotch tape onto the frames inner glass.

Once everything was placed how I liked it, I put the frame back together and BAM, all finished!

I have gotten a dry-eraser marker from Dollar Tree. You can now use the glass as a dry-erase board, because it wipes off so easily! Plenty of room to fix mistakes or change your schedule without worrying about your paper schedule (I’m a neat freak like that)!

P.S: I only did a Monday-Friday version, and I combined the last 2 weeks 🙂

Blooming Sunflower Dinner!

As I was going through the Interior Design program at Fox  Valley Technical College, everyone seemed to find their niche! Whether it was tiles, colors, kitchen designing, or CAD, there was always something someone was extra good at! It was only a brief moment in one of my Design Accessories class that we did “event planning.” I soon discovered that setting a table is not only interesting, but so much fun! Who knew that something as simple as setting the table could really be fun and part of designing!

Whether it’s just a simple lunch with the girls, or a fancy dinner, the way you set your table says a lot about you and you can easily make a long lasting impression using unique colors and dinnerware! Table linens and napkin rings also add a unique touch!

Here is my “Blooming Sunflower” placement! 🙂
