Floral with color scheme!
Hey guys! As I was at the flower shop yesterday, I had a couple of gentlemen ask me what color roses or flowers they should get for their significant other for an anniversary, birthday, etc. Well, I know the typical basics, like red means love, and yellow means friendship. Being in such a big flower shop, there are many more roses with different colors that I seriously have no idea how to set a vibe or meaning to them! After doing a little research, this is what I found!
Love, Beauty, Courage and Respect, Romantic Love, Congratulations, “I Love You”, “Job Well Done”, Sincere Love, Respect, Courage & Passion
Purity, Innocence, Silence, Secrecy, Reverence, Humility, Youthfulness,
“I am worthy of you”, Heavenly
Also means “happy love” when used as bridal flowers.
Appreciation, “Thank you”, Grace, Perfect Happiness, Admiration, Gentleness, “Please Believe Me”
Admiration, Sympathy, Gentleness, Grace, Gladness, Joy, Sweetness
Appreciation, Gratitude, “Thank You”
Joy, Gladness, Friendship, Delight, Promise of a new beginning, Welcome Back, Remember Me, Jealousy,
Yellow with Red Tip
Friendship, Falling in Love
Red and White
Given together, these signify unity
Red and Yellow
Jovial and Happy Feelings
The unattainable, the impossible
Love at first sight, Enchantment
Well there you have it! Now you should know exactly what to get for roses next time for a special occasion or feeling!
Hey everyone! I want to share with you something that has become part of my life over the past year and a half!
Ever since I met my amazing boyfriend, racing, YES RACING has taken over my weekends over the summer! Turns out, Eric’s twin brother,Brock races Sport Mods at the Oshkosh Speedway and Shawano Speed way dirt tracks here in Wisconsin!
It’s way beyond cool that I get to be up close and personal with these cars and the drivers all out for one goal, and that’s the checkered flag! Racing involves a lot of dedication and I applaud anyone who is able to put all the dedication into those cars and learning the track!
Here are a couple of photos from this year and previous seasons of Brock Saunders race car!
Here’s another cool thing! They just got a website up and going! More information and videos can be found there!

Yes, it’s true..fall is just around the corner! Crazy right? I’ve been researching and thinking about fall decor and I’ve come up with a couple of things to get your brain thinking of how you’re going to make the switch!
Velvet is a fabric that has been around forever and it’s definitely making a come back with fall around the corner!
Velvet is a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctive feel. via https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velvet
A good way to add velvet to your home this fall is pillows! All those pillows that are stacked up on your bed and couches/sofa’s, well switch out those covers and put on some solid color velvet pieces!
Due to its yellow color, it is used as an imitation of gold. Also called Prince Rupert’s metal, the alloy was named after Prince Rupert of the Rhine. Both an American term for the copper-zinc-tin alloy known as gunmetal, and an alloy which is considered both a brass and a bronze. via https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass
I usually only like brass around in the fall due to it’s unique color, and I think it adds a unique elegance as an accent piece, whether it’s a lamp or lantern or picture frame!
At Pottery Barn, we have a couple of brass lamps that just came in and wow! They are gorgeous!
Gosh, what are some other accessories that are really going to show up this fall?
Natural Fiber Rugs!
Natural fiber rugs come in Jute, Chenille, Sisal, and other combinations! Natural fibers are known to be extra strong and stain resistant. They do require some upkeep like vacuuming on a very low power and heat, and not use any harsh chemicals on the rugs when cleaning, but I swear, you’ll love them in the end! They add such a homey, and relaxing feel to any environment!
I sure hope this eases your mind a little as the switch to a new season can be overwhelming! Instead of overwhelming, let’s make it easy and fun!
